Continuous Sheet Production
Continuous molding between layers of film is used for the continuous production of sheets, both colored and translucent, in flat or profiled forms. The main applications are used in building and agriculture.
These are the steps in this process:
- Continuous impregnation of chopped rovings in-situ or chopped or continuous strand mats by Resin on a carrier film,
- Making a sandwich of this material with a second film deposited on top, which then serves as the mold,
- Shaping as permitted within the curing cycle, resulting in the finished product on exiting the oven,
- Lateral edge trimming and cutting the products to the desired length. The films are rewound at the exit of the oven prior to trimming.
